First off On this day let's roll the clocks back to 1979, it was the end of the 70's and almost start of those dreaded 80's..which I am sure you all know all to well. Do you still have those bell bottoms, and brown cordoroys, with your PEACE necklace's, or were those retiring because Madonna Cones, and Paula Abduls "cold hearted snake" were infringing our near future? Well a couple things that happened on this Day March 19, 1979 30 years ago in history :

*The United States House of Representatives begins broadcasting its day-to-day business via the cable television network C-SPAN.
*Births : Hee-Seop Choi(Korean Baseball Player), and Ivan Lujubicic(Coraitian tennis player)
*Who else shares March 19th Birthday: Wyatt Earp, Bruce Willis, Glenn Close, Ursula Andress, Phylis Newman, and Patrick McGoohen.
*Weather on this Monday March 19th 1979, was actually a cold 49* in Bellflower, California. When I was born that year it was 105* the hottest day of the year in June! I came into the world steamy, he came into the world brisk!

Today's feature is not just a card, but something crafty I made for Kris for his birthday! He love's pin up girls! So I thought this image from victoriacasestamps.com would be cool to use. I colored her all chic with my copics, and created framed art for him to put on his desk at work! And a matching card! Isn't it sooo cute...Hope he likes it...

Day 4 - Last Day he is 29...

Well it's the last day for Kris to be 29! Wonder how he'll wake up tomorrow knowing "He's 30!" So did you all enjoy leaving your twenties, or is there ever a day you want to go back to 20, 21, 25? I think my favorite age was 25! You were past the 21 year old party phase, and really truly started to enter the "real adulthood" I think. And even more so now as I reach myself closer to my thirties, I think turning 30 is a another great milestone in life. You get to enter another phase of life, and another phase of being a "Grown Up", but do all the responsibilities have to follow LOL.

So for today, I saved my favorite...cards to post I made for another one of scrappy's swaps this week! I took two spots in this swap because I LOVE MFT STAMPS! Scrappy's newest swap she is hosting over on splitcoast is MFT Swap for charity! She is donating all the hostess cards to a charity! What a fabulous idea! Great Going Scrappy! There is still time to chime in the fun, Do you love MFT, well than come on over, and play! Not due till June, plenty O time! Scrappy you have been featured in all my posts this week. I worked on all your swaps....Shew I am tuckered, thank goodness most were 3 + 1 's LOL fast and easy to complete!

My first spot I used MFT bunny slippers stamp set! I used the paper piercing trick to make my robe all chic! I color coordinated my DP to go with the mood of relaxation! Since today is relax day for Mr. Birthday Boy, before tomorrow big DAY!

My second spot, I added some a twist in my card design. I used MFT Day Dreamer set that I got from last weeks bubble bin bargain! Whoot Whoot Kim love the bubble bin bargains! You all have to check it out on Mondays, that is when it updates with new bargains for the week! So my humorous twist in this spot was I created 4 cards

for the birthday boy in mind. Ms. Day Dreamer ponders..the day before BDAY "so what I was thinking birthday boy you + me = good times" *wink wink* LOL oh boy I just remember My Momma and His Momma read this too LOL! Oh well! But my twist I thru in this card making was to color each Day Dreamer's hair color a different color, and show Kris....and say "Are you a blonde, red hair, burnette, and black hair" kinda guy? His answer...RED Head LOL of all, Shoot, I just put blonde highlights in my hair...well I got that one wrong! Eh it's all good..I put the wild streak in the relationship!

Day 3 - Hip Hoppin to Easter! but first...

So onto today's post which is about easter, since easter is not that far out, spring break already in vacation mode for most! So which means, hip piddy hop into Easter with Easter baskets and cards for all the friends, and little ones! Another swap I am in is Hip Hop Easter. Actually it's another one of urscrappymama's swap, Scrappy I think I am on a scrappy kick this week! LoL For this swap I used a Hanna set from hannastamps. I used my Nestie's label two for the first time, since I have had it! LoL. For the second half of the swap I had to do an ABAC (anything but a card) I used the pillow box die from stampin up! Sooo cute! I am pondering what treat to fill em with before mailing them off! I embellished it with the new embosslits from SU too! These are so fun!

Day 2 - California Roll anyone?

Happy Monday Everyone, Start of another week, oh boy...is it friday yet...LoL, guess not. What shall Monday bring us? Let's see how about some sushi! As I remember the day's living in California, was the oh so yum sushi you could get, sorry Texas but no Benihana Restaurant hold's up to the California coast fresh sushi rolls you could get everywhere. Of course the California Roll was my fave! And Wasabi!! So which brings me to how much I love Sushi, I was in another one of Scrappy's swap was "I love" which stamp company, Well hmmm I love them ALL! But since I themed this one in my mind to the love of sushi, I used Amuse sushi set that is perfect for my Love of Sushi Rolls! Get it Roll with it! LoL

Just bringing my California side into the mix!

And can't have sushi, without the kimono, and the Bonsai tree branches LoL, all a perfect match!

Birthday Countdown Week..Day 1

Well this marks' the start of Mr. Birthday Man's Birthday week to the big 30 mark! Each day I will post a card I made for some of the swaps I am in with my fellow swappers...and show ya a sneek glimpse of your goodies your could win so check back daily!

For today...I made these two cards for Scrappy's Elzybell's Swap on Splitcoast, there is still time to join, not due till 5/29, amazing I am ahead LoL! I own two Elzybell's stamps, so shocking only two I know LOL, but I picked them up at the clearance sale over at Amuse Art Stamps site! This first one is made with the mouse post stamp stamp, and I used the faux postage template on SCS resources page to make my own "faux postage" look!

The second part of the swap is to make 3 x 3's these are the easiet to snap out! And so fun to have on hand...I used the "Mary and Joseph" stamp from Elzybell. I added some dew drops, and dp paper a couple punches, and done! Super easy sheemezy!

Well I have been a busy swapper this week, Had to complete 4 GOSH LOL but three I took some pics of, but hey it's all for fun right!

This first card is for "Don't be Square" Swap over on Splitcoast! I chose to make a onesie card, they are super dupa easy, too cute! I CASED the layout from the examples...It's so fun to make..all done with various circle and scallop punches...

The next swap Ms. KelliJo's Swap, was for ATC , which is "artist trading cards", these are too cute. These are way to trade with other swappers a reflection of your style. This swap was to create 9 ATC's using There She Goes stamps! So will it be your sty or mine... LoL

Oink Oink!

My last swap I worked...on was my dear friend Kate's Swap, I never miss a swap of her's. Her theme was a tisket a tasket, Create little easter baskets, to give to the other swappers! I made little easter tins!! And In mine I went a bit un-traditional, i made a little sampler basket, of my new favorite fun stamps from the greeting farm. Inside is several image's stamped of Anya and Ian to play with! And stamped in memento ink! Also is a baggie with several different embellishments to create your card! Hope you all enjoy....when you get them...!

DKOS Cards!

These cards are for Manda_dex swap over on SCS! Her challenge was a swap called DKO'S, which means Different Kind of Swap, where the participants select a category, and create that card in the theme, I chose to participate in two categories, one was for Punch Pals, where all you could use was punches to create your design, and the other was a christmas themed card using a NON-Christmas card image!

Punch Pals, gotta love Sesame Street, Elmo, Cookie Monster, and The Grouch! Shake the card, and they all get "googly" Eyes over the little ones!!!

My next card was Christmas themed, using a non-christmas image! I used a digital image DOROTHY ANYA from "the greeting farm" Stamps, I love these images, they are so fun to color with my Copics! Or as Ryley would say .... " CooopIccc, CoooPic, CooooPic! LOL"

Well I am proud to announce the winner of the "Cherries and Cupcakes" Swap...First you will when....your very own set of "Cupcakes A 'La Yummy" in the cute brown organza baggie from Unity Stamp Company!!! The set is retired, I think, I just went on the website to find a pic, of the set however, since the new year, they have had many other releases, and did retire some sets. StampinLibby's little darling daughter just celebrated her 1st Birthday this past week, and what a yummy way to say happy birthday with "Cupcakes". So here's my entry....Courtney's "cute as a cupcake" outfit from Gymboree is the adorable INSIRATION! Even more to me because Ryley(my DD) has that outfit too!!! Friday Events.....RECAP

Well to start off this great weekend, the sync of events were Friday Afternoon at Stamp Antonio for two wonderful classes taught by our WONDERFUL Amuse Instructor GEETA!! Yayyyyy GEETA. You were soooo nice to come down on Friday for us!! Thank you Thank you! I am sorry I could not attend both classes, but duties called as a hostess to get back to setting up for the big event!

Next we went to dinner at Casa Rio, food was good, but we could have had a little faster Service...the bus boy only knew how to hold up the wall it seemed when I had to ask him for some more chips and salsa and water! LOL But it was so fun to have dinner with everyone....than head off around riverwalk for some site seeing. The evening was great 79*, and no breeze, nor humidity, just a perfect evening! We wanted to check out the sites, than as we were walking...the girls voted for a bar..to hop into to, for some drinks! And someone suggested isn't there a Piano Bar, and Lisa (Great4u), was "PIANO BAR, HOW OLD DO YOU THINK I AM, HONEY I ATE THAT OLD, I WANNA REAL BAR for some drinks!!!" What a great lady, Lisa I thought that was great, I will always remember that a girl always knows what she WANTS!!!! Brenda (sassybee) was wondering if Polyesters...was still there, I myself was no help...I don't know much down there...so we thought Coyote Ugly...LETS GO DANCE ON THE BAR!

A January Swap Done!!

Ok it's friday nite, and I am working on my swaps! Here is two I completed last nite for a swap on SCS "What's your favorite embellishment" hosted by Ms. Heather. I chose stickles...cuz stickles are soooooooooo fun and add sparkle to everything, and my other card was using primas! I went classic style, did some sponging, and of course used my new digital download papers from MFT Stamps....These downloads you can print from your own PRINTER! And sooo far XXX my fingers, it hasn't used too much ink yet! So here ya go:

San Antonio Shoebox Swap SNEEK PEEK

Hey SCS'ers.......Wanna SNEEK PEEK.......Hmmmmmm should I or should I not...eh why not...I have been a busy bee this past week while on vacation getting ready for the big day....I am soooo excited....it's almost here......YIPPEE. But wanted to show you....a few things what I made for everyone.....and for the tables...and of course MY CARD!

First off THE NAME BADGES, we will be soo professional, even has the CLIP, LOL. Take a looksie you might see your name, I did not photograph them all but I just grabbed a handful and layed em out for a photo MOMENT.....so whatcha think.... DH helped me make em New Year's eve, what a sweet guy! Awhhhhhh ...I know. We watched the ball drop as I glued and he clipped...LOL...it was fun times.....

Next I really made a paper CAKE. These are sooooo fun! They are timely must have PATIENCE PATIENCE, but they are soooo cute...when they are done! So for the table centerpieces they each will have a slice of CAKE with the table letter. I even stamped "you are seated at table no." under each letter LOL. I haven't figured how I will display wanting to see if I can make a mini cake stand so that the "slice" is elevated for viewing....so that's in the works...So anyone up for a chocolate slice.......

Just a few christmas projects I have to show....

Hey all hope the new year is treating you well, I wanted to post some pics of some christmas projects I have worked on thru the holidays. They were for gifts for the family.....and the best gift is the gift that keeps on giving....so I wanted to show you....

This one I had made for my parents from Ryley to "Gamma and Poppy". It's a butler's serving tray that let's you slip in four 4x6 photos to cherish from time to time. What a great gift....huh...I used my handy dandy cricut and cut out the letters. And stamped some snowman to add a little christmas cheer!!!

I love making frames, and personalizing them....Great Grandma is becoming a collector of my frames...I make one for her for birthday's, and holiday's. I put Ryley's current pic in it...she just loves them! Oh and that was the pic we used to send christmas cards to all the family back in Good ol' Cali....

And....Yup another butler's tray creation....This one was for Gramee...DH mom....I used Cupcake Flopsey from MFT....for her fun image. These trays were soooo fun to create with....

Well off to my next post......to be returning....in a moment...

Just dropping in this wee wee morning as the clock strikes 230AM, I suppose I should wrap up the stamps and call it a nite, but I had a goal tonite to get started on teh Big SWAP Day goodies for next Month...i got the name tags done....and I kinda wanted to update my poor neglected blog...and drop a quick hello before the last day of 2008was all over! Happy Wednesday evening all! I just wanted to share my little creation I whipped up for a co-worker of mine. She was recently married, and needed some thank you cards. I posed my creation upon her wedding colors, and went to work. I made her a cute card box to go with her cards. I used the new A2 Card box from SCS!! It's an adorable addition....take a peek....

In one of the swaps on Splitcoastampers I participated in was a Halloween Spook Swap, everyone had exchanged names, and got to "spook" their Secret Spook with a surprise gift; I rec'd the cutest little Halloween Basket full of Halloween Stamping goodies from Stacey, Thank you again Stacey!!!...

So tonite I whipped up a card with my new TrickortreataBella stamp and my new cuttlebug "pumpkin harvest" folder to show my new Bella off....whatcha think!!!

The Rubber Stamp Expo was held in San Antonio this past weekend. It was my first time ever going, it was a blast. Momma, Chrissy and myself along with the two kiddos Ryley and JJ went to see all the neat stuff, and pick up a "few" keyword...just a "few" items LOL!!!! As browsing through the Rubber Necker booth, my little munchkin decided she wanted to pick a few....

Ok this is an absolute first for us Californians, we are Hurricane Virgins!!!! LOL. So far we are in "wait" mode, and prepare. Friday will tell the tell, if its hitting us direct, or how severe of impact we are going to have. YIKEs!!!!! Tonite we put brought in all our outdoor furniture, and bought some water, and goodies to have for the weekend in case we loose power. But ill keep ya updated. And def. will take some pics to post of what happens during...!!!!!

Kris wants to see if he can fly his kite...think the wind will be just right LOL!

It's grandpa's, my dad's birthday today, so his request was to get a "cool card" scrapped for his birthday. So since he is now a Harley owner, I spun my inspiration and I used Unity Stamp Co. Old Skool set. I love their motorcyle stamp in the set, it has awesome detail! I went untraditional than just Happy Birthday, I decided, let's be "Hawg Unleashed!" Happy Birthday Dad!!!!! Ryley says Happy Birthday Grandpa!!!!!!

Hey all, how are you on this wonderful sunday! I was having a creative edge today, and wanted to finish up this page of little Ms. Ryley for Great Grandma for her birthday, it is a framed scrap page I made for her of the little darling, and a pic of all three of us from our vacation photos. Well first off we are getting back into the "real" jiggy of things again, we just got back from vacation in SPI, or known as South Padre Island, Texas, want a sneek peak...

Yup, that's all you get sand between the toes...LOL, nahh jk, here's some fun pics of the little darling vacationing...

She had a blast, she was a beach bum pro! She learned how to pick up seashells, and help mommy collect them, granite now they are STILL in the bucket and toy trailer full of sand, but I have the moment still in my mind!! It was great down there, sunny everyday! The hurricane didn't stop us!!!
